This year is especially important for Mitigate – we are celebrating our 15th anniversary. It has been a time full of technological challenges, bold decisions and, most importantly, meeting great people.

In honor of this anniversary, we have compiled 15 valuable lessons from our colleagues who have been working in the Mitigate team for a long time. These thoughts reflect all the experience, philosophy and "work hard" that we have accumulated over the past 15 years.

Insights from the Mitigate team

"You will always 'get it', even if you don't know how and when, but there is always a solution to everything, even if you don't see it. You have to trust that there is a solution, you just have to work, because it won't always come by itself."Edgars Augstkalns

"Working out together with colleagues improves daily communication – if you have given a sweaty hand in the gym, it is much easier to ask any question in the office afterwards."Jana Trapāne

"True and pure loyalty is a relatively rare phenomenon, but it exists, and we are lucky to have colleagues who respect real relationships!"Arvis Zeile

"You should always create things that excite you outside of work. If the work becomes too much, there should be something that allows you to turn it off and devote yourself to something completely different."Edgars Augstkalns

"Always allow the idea that there are errors in the solution you have developed - this will save you from a surprised look."Ingus Skaistkalns

"Leave the code in a better condition than you found it."Edgars Beigarts

"The law of conservation of energy also applies to our work - if we do, then the result will be! It will definitely be! We just have to do it."Arvis Zeile

"Postpone solving problems if there is a high chance that they will solve themselves without your immediate involvement - this is the 'Napoleon technique'."Edgars Beigarts

"There are very few fundamentally unsolvable problems. With the right combination of communication and work, seemingly insurmountable mountains can be toppled."Toms Mikoss

"A team is as powerful as we can see for ourselves – eyes are afraid of work, hands are not afraid of work."Jana Trapāne

"The most sustainable results and the greatest real value are achieved only through cooperation."Veronika Kima-Zeile

"Big changes are difficult, but not impossible, so they are always achievable by taking them one small step at a time."Ingus Skaistkalns

"Don't be shy about looking silly and questioning obvious things. 'Obvious' comes from many years in the industry, and is not the same everywhere."Toms Mikoss

"We overestimate how much other people think of us – let's remember the 'Spotlight effect'."Arvis Zeile

"It's not words that move us forward, but personal examples and real action."Veronika Kima-Zeile
